With disco, dancing, and lavish bingo callers - this isn't your grandmother's bingo. In the United Kingdom, bingo halls are working to make bingo more attractive to new and younger players.
The atmosphere in their bingo halls resembles more of a night club than the halls of yesteryear. Where players balanced a cigarette and a bingo card. They've even revamped some of the bingo calls, where in the past the call of 88 would be known as "two fat ladies;" they've revamped that call to "two body positive ladies."
"The resurgence is partly due to the fact that we live in such a vurtual age, that many younger players are looking to "unplug" and get back the roots of why things started in the first place."
