In Part 1 of our bingo hall management series, we gave some pointers on how an observant and energetic caller can have a positive impact on your games. In Part 2, we’ve got some tips on how to effectively use your floor walkers and volunteers in your hall.
First up...
The Floor Walkers & Volunteers
Efficiency is key to your floor walkers doing their job smoothly and effectively while staying ahead of your player’s needs. Providing service as fast as possible in a friendly tone will keep your players at ease – especially your new players!
Effective floor walkers and volunteers will allow your players to enjoy themselves by eliminating the chaos between games that can ensue as players rush to buy more paper, pull tabs or event games.
The floor walkers should also look for customers who are having difficulties keeping up or confused as to how a particular game is played. It’s important to keep an eye out for new players and help them learn games or to make sure they are enjoying themselves. In fact, it’s important for your volunteers to make sure everyone is having a great time.
Your volunteers should be warm and engaging – greeting regulars and taking extra time making new players feel welcome; eliminate the intimidation that could come when stepping into a bingo hall for the first time!
Making your players feel comfortable is the number one take away from this post. They’ll be more apt to recommend your hall to others and keep them coming back week after week – increasing your attendance and profits! Feel free to comment below and share your thoughts.
Next week we’ll discuss some tips on improving gameplay and offering bingo accessories.
