Bingo Benefit Aids Bristol Family After Fire

A family in Maine were left without their home and vehicles, after a fire started in their shed and traveled to their house via trees on their property. The Smerdons were awoken in the middle of the night by the blaze engulfing their shed and called 911, luckily evacuating before the fire spread to the house.

In the wake of their devastation, the community responded to their need by holding a bingo fund raiser, in which prizes were donated by local businesses and all proceeds were given to the Smerdon family to cover the cost of a new vehicle.

We love seeing how charitable gaming can positively impact a community, right down to the level of the individual. Have you ever held or attended a benefit for a neighbor at your local bingo hall?
